Tuesday 17th December

Today is our last day of stitching for 2013. It has been a lovely creative year for us. This post is the first weekly post which we hope to continue next year.

Today we had two special events. Firstly a quilt presentation to Betty who has been unwell lately. Long ago Betty gave the group a quilt top made many years before. During the past week some members have finally got it finished – first with applique and then quilting and binding. Betty was delighted to think we went to so much trouble for her but believe me she is worth diamonds.

Secondly we had Marlene’s 70th birthday. Some members brought in a special cake for her and we all enjoyed a delicious slice. Happy Birthday Marlene.

Chris also gave us a treat with a display of her Sue Spargo bird blocks. This has been a perfect project for Chris as she is an expert needlewoman.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

See you all next year.
