Tuesday 7th October

Sorry I’m late with the post but I’ve been wrangling with Wilga’s workshop.

We had a small gathering this week as many members are away for the Brisbane Quilt Show. Many more are heading up there on Thursday and it promises to be a great day out. This week Wilga gave us her usual monthly workshop and it was rather intriging. “Half Hexagon Quilt As You Go” is the latest scrappy quilt technique for us to grapple with. Using a Jelly Roll if you wish the design is based on 2 1/2″ half hexagon shapes sewn to a backing and wadding. What fun we had working this pattern out. I’m sure there will be many questions next week. I have managed to make a sample piece with quite a few stops and starts. Well done Wilga in finding something to challenge us.

We also had part three of our mystery table runner which finishes next week.

Our lovely member Betty is not doing very well at the moment. We will hold her in our thoughts.

Wilga is tireless in sharing her skills with our group. We are very lucky.
