A very pleasant day today with some very nice visitors. Firstly we did a review of Zone Day with our friends Edith and Bev from Yamba Quilters. Everyone thinks we did a good job with very little that could be improved. So great work everyone who helped in any way.
Next it was the very pleasant task of our treasurer Janet, to present cheques from the proceeds of our monster raffle. $800 was donated to Rita and Sandra from the Maclean Hospital Auxilliary. These ladies do a wonderful job raising funds for our local hospital and it was nice to be able to contribute to their work.
Then we had two cheques of $400 for Dexter and Bailey who are the disabled grandchildren from our extended craft family. Wendy and Anne, their grannies, were there to represent the children who are both presently in hospital. We hope they will be home soon.
Lastly we said farewell to a former member, Wendy Buddle, who is moving to Queensland with her hubby. Nancy, our welfare officer, presented Wendy with a set of heart blocks to remind her of all the friends she has made here. Wendy responded with a lovely speech of thanks and farewell.
Did I say lastly? Well that would actually be a great morning tea with lots of home made treats.
