Tuesday 14th April

Hi all, we had a very nice time today with our quilting friends. Our friendship quilt from last week was finished that day and delivered to our beautiful friend Betty Harris. Betty is very ill and the beautiful flower blocks have given her a lot of joy. She tells everyone that you have to belong to Maclean Patchwork and Quilters to get a quilt like hers from special friends. We all love you Betty and keep you in our thoughts.

Congratulations to Diane Lyons who won the 8″ x 8″ Crossing the Clarence Challenge. The exhibition can be seen at Ferry Park Gallery during April. It was great to see a quilter beat all those traditional artists.

Mary Williams took us through a mini workshop on Shrinking Fabric Texture Magic. This technique and product looks so easy to use that we are all keen to give it a go. Mary’s steps can be found on our Workshops page.

Marlene brought in a beaut black, white and red quilt she has made for her granchild’s school to raffle. It is striking and would suit anyone who loves colour. Great work Marlene. We have two more Signature blocks to view on that page from Marlene and Heather.
