Today we went to visit our quilting friends at Goonellabah near Lismore. The day turned out to be sunny and warm and we enjoyed the drive up through the valleys and hills. A very warm welcome awaited us and a beautiful morning tea. We had a raffle and lucky door prizes as well as a gift felt bird and a cupcake pin cushion.
There were a lot of great items for Show and Tell from both groups. It is lovely to see some ideas being developed by another group. In this case it was a lady who did sun printing on fabric and an art quilt triptych that caught my eye.
One lady had made a most beautiful needleturn applique quilt from a block of the month and another had finished off two traditional quilts in lovely soft colours. There was also a bright orange Bargello quilt. All in all a feast for the eyes!
After a delicious lunch and a word puzzle game and lots of chatting and sharing it was time to go home. On the way we detoured through Lismore to visit Rainbow Patchwork, one of our favourite shops. What a lovely day we have had.
