Tuesday 12th May

A good turnout today and all the ladies seem to have had a lovely Mother’s Day. New magazines were received and The Template from the Quilters Guild of NSW. This featured a beautiful raffle quilt so the tickets were snapped up.

Diane was lucky enough to win the raffle quilt from the Tucabia Quilt Show which was held a couple of weeks ago. They had a beaut show and the quilt was a scrappy nine patch with great use of colour and design. Diane also brought in her winning entry from the “8×8 Crossing the Clarence” challenge. Her’s was titled ‘My Uncle Crossing the Clarence’ and apparently he was a world champion rower. Thankyou for sharing Diane.

After a delicious morning tea Elizabeth (that’s me) did a mini workshop in two parts. First she showed how to piece a three dimensional butterfly block which would be nice for a little girl quilt. Then she demonstrated a marking pen dyeing technique which is super easy and lots of fun.

Next week eleven of the members will be retreating to Evans Head and the blog post will be later in the week.
