Tuesday 26th May

Wow! Our last stitching for May so where has this month gone? Today we had our bi-monthly meeting and there was a lot to discuss. Next week is our Open Day and a lot of planning took place. We also touched on First Aid and Emergencies. Other talking points were workshops and selling raffle tickets. Leading up to an event is always a busy time. Everyone loved the rose quilt finished at last week’s retreat. It will be raffled at our open day along with a lovely table runner made by Fay. Claudette also had a beautiful table runner made from fabric left over from another raffle quilt and Barbara brought in her post and rails quilt top she was working on at the retreat. After the meeting we settled down to our usual chatting and stitching. Janet made date scones for morning tea which were delicious. One topic of conversation was the Lismore Quilter’s Quilt Show held last Saturday. This lovely show featured some great quilts especially the English paper pieced ones. Quite a few of our members made the trip over and had a really pleasant time.
