Another busy day with lots to see and do at patchwork. Alison celebrated her 60th birthday which we all know is the new “40”!!! Claudette, our president, is off next week for a back operation. We wish her a speedy recovery.
The members decided to donate all our Open Day proceeds to the Cancer Council, not just the raffle as previously mooted. This will make over $300 to go to this very worthy cause which touches us all these days.
A small band of art quilters presented their second quilts for the year. The themes for each one are developing well and lots of techniques and elements are making their way onto these small creations.
This is Helen’s art Quilt. She sent it in as she is in hospital today. We hope you are back with us soon Helen. See all of today’s art quilts on the Art Quilts 2015 page.
Today we also had a great Mini Workshop with Colleen Brighton. Colleen demonstrated how to do Free Machine Embroidery using wash away. Some Wash Away, an embroidery hoop, some thread with a sheen and of course a sewing machine and we can all make pretty lacy things to embellish our quilts. Thank you Colleen. See Colleen’s tips on our Workshops page.
