Tuesday 23rd June

It was a hectic day at stitching today as the Exhibition Stewards were busy collating the entries for our Quilt Show which is part of the LCACA Art, Craft and Quilt Exhibition. This is the exhibition’s 50th year which is quite an achievement for a small country town. Apparently the entry numbers are up on last year so it should be a great show. Save July 3rd to 5th and visit this great event. See our “50” challenge as well.

Elizabeth brought in the finished Signature Quilt and it was agreed to be a lovely example of our interests and work. The quilt can be seen at the exhibition. The blocks range from storytelling to amusing to interests and life events to just pretty. Well done everyone.

Wilga showed us some bunting and a sign to further our discussion re a new sign for the group. Apparently ours is a bit tatty now so that will be an interesting project.

Also today it was exciting to read our story in the Annual Country Threads Magazine. We submitted the story of our 25th Anniversary and history of the group and how it has changed through the years. It was lovely to see it in print with the photos looking particularly clear and sharp. The magazine should be in the shops soon.
