Tuesday 14th July

Lots of members today and we are back in action.

Fay and Wilga did a mini workshop called “Blast from the Past Techniques”. These lovely old ways of piecing fabric and using fabric decoratively are still used today in different projects such as art quilts and sampler quilts. See workshop page for a few brief directions.

Fay and Wilga also set us a new task of making a new banner for our group. It will feature icons of Maclean and be made in bunting style. Due by the end of the year!!

Our new member Helen G. showed us her quilt top made in a class. This quilt used lots of different methods of applique and paper piecing as well as examples of fussy cutting leaf shapes to achieve shading. A beautiful quilt Helen.

Today we also celebrated the birthdays of long time members Helen M and Chris P. They share July 17th so we had two chocolate cakes baked by Janet to enjoy.
