Tuesday 4th August

What a lovely day we had today. Not a big turn out but a very friendly one. Wilga held her monthly workshop and showed us some of her favourite patchworking techniques. The first was “Quilt as you Go’ scrappy with a design on the front and back. Then she demonstrated four ways to do “Quilt as you Go’ scrappy braiding. Both these techniques make wonderful quilts.

We had quite a few laughs when Wilga showed us a dress she made years ago in red shiny fabrics with a terrific quilt block border on the skirt. We have a resurgence of interest in the old old blocks found in magazines such as Quilt World. Watch this space for more ideas. This one was called “Through the Looking Glass’.

Marcia Hunter had a beautiful pussy cat quilt for Show and tell. The quilt was really pretty. Next week Liz Imrie will be doing a ‘colour’ mini workshop.

Elizabeth and Liz had their fibre art bowls to show. See them on the workshop page.
