Today we travelled up to Evans Head for the 25th Annual Far Northern Zone Quilter’s Gathering. It was held at the RSL Club and the auditorium was packed with happy quilters chatting about all things patchwork.
The Evans Head and Woodburn Quilting groups did a great job hosting the event this year. There was a pretty coat hanger for each guest and lots of lucky door prizes and raffle prizes. Many ladies went home with some new fabrics and tools from the great traders that had set up their shops for us. Three of our local favourites were Rainbow Patchwork, Be Be Bold and Sherilee Stitches.
The Show and Tell featured many old quilts in honour of the 25 years anniversary. There were also lots of new traditional and modern quilts to enjoy. Our group had some beautiful old quilts and a couple of new ones to show off. These show and tell features often lead to discussions and like minded quilters finding each other.
Two hundred and eighty-three baby quilts were donated by the Zone Groups.
A great day was had by all. Sorry about the quality of some photos.
