Tuesday 21st November

Another lovely day of patchwork and stitching with our great group. Today was our last General Meeting for 2015 and our hard working committee led us through a few things to tidy up the end of the year. A great job done ladies. For morning tea we enjoyed the end of month birthday cake.

Then we had a surprise visitor to speak with us. Christine Book told us of her quilting journey from art teacher to full time designer of beautiful folksy patchwork with stitching. She is a very lively lady and full of enthusiasm which was infectious. Christine has written four patchwork books the latest being ‘Stitched for us Folk’. Earlier books ‘Stitched Vintage’ and a Christmas book are still available as are patterns for her designs shown below. Christine showed us her work samples and explained how each one was created. It is so lovely to listen to a quilter tell her story. Thank you Christine it was great to meet you. And thank you for the patterns.

Wilga had her latest celtic table runner for show and tell. This one is cream and red and very beautiful.

Next week is our Christmas Party and we will meet as usual in the hall and proceed down around lunch time. Don’t forget your challenge bags and scissor gifts. Have a lovely patchy week.
