Christmas Party 2015

Today we celebrated our Christmas Party at the Clarence Hotel otherwise known as “the Bottom Pub”. The organisers did a splendid job decorating the venue with Christmas patchwork pieces.

This year our challenge was a fold away shopping bag and there were plenty of entries. Even though we all started with the same pattern the bags took on a life of their own.

Our Secret Santa gift was a pair of scissors. It was great fun to see everyone opening up their parcels to discover what type of scissors they had received. Big parcels sometimes held tiny scissors and even though I got the last parcel my scissors were lovely stork embroidery ones which I shall cherish.

With much sadness Wilga has relinquished her long held monthly tutoring role with the club. She will still be there to help us with our patchwork problems just not in formal lessons. She generously donated her tutoring fee to the Cancer Council this year.

It has been a terribly hot day and we all rushed off to cool down at home. That being said it was a very nice party and we had a grand time.

Merry Christmas
