Tuesday 9th February

What a busy but fun day we had today. We started our BOM which is Christine Book’s ‘Row by Row’ quilt. Helen Granleese is leading us through this lovely project. Today she showed us the beauty of fussy cutting, how to sew pieces together for the best results and some good information about needles and threads. We have started on row two which uses 1″ elongated hexagons to form crosses a al Lucy Boston! See our first EPP on the EPP page.

The other members were busy too with the raffle quilt taking shape at last. This is a big undertaking each year and the leaders need a big pat on their backs for all the effort involved. It is a different quilt this year with a more modern design and edgier colour scheme.

Elizabeth Imrie and Mary Williams are busy with our art quilt entry for the Grafton Gallery exhibition.

Don’t forget next week to bring in your star patterns and Wilga will give you some fabric for the challenge.
