Back to our normal sewing days with everyone busy on their projects.
The committee and some helpers were constructing a very colourful quilt for donating on Zone Day. Zone Day is when all the quilting groups from Grafton to Tweed Heads get together for a fun filled day. This year the donation quilts will go to the Mental Health Unit. We are also swapping ‘mug bags’ so we are having a preview of our bags the week before. See Zone Day page for more information.
There is still lots of EPP going on and quite a few embroidery projects popping up.
Although the numbers were down, our Daffodil Day still raised in excess of $1500 and was said to be a very pleasant day for all in attendance. Well done girls!!
This Friday, 26rd August, will be Nancy Towell’s birthday. She is an original founding member and is now in her early eighties. Nancy loves all things patchwork and is still making beautiful quilts and other items. She loves her two sewing group days per week one with us and the other with Bluff Point Quilters. Nancy loves interacting with her slightly younger friends and sharing in the latest things we are buying. She also loves jewellery and always colour coordinates her clothes. A picture of Nancy is featured below. Happy Birthday To You!!!!
Guest blogger Colleen will be with you for the next two weeks.
