Christmas Party 2016

Today we held our Christmas Party at the Maclean RSL Club in their picturesque River Room. Congratulations to the organisers Bev and Marie with the help of Robyne.

We had a lovely time with a very nice lunch and some mind blowing games. Everyone was in a party mood and dressed in an array of bright outfits. Just relaxing together and enjoying the day was a great way to finish our year together. See ‘Candid Camera’ photos at the end of this post and I’m sorry about the quality.

Elizabeth organised the Christmas Challenge which was any item featuring the Betty’s Delight block. All the entries were lovely and beautifully crafted. The Viewer’s Choice winner was Marcia Rutledge with a very cute bird house. The Most Creative use of Betty’s Delight block went to Penne Carr with her deconstructed version on a wall hanging. The Most Unusual item went to Sheryl Reed for her stuffed reindeer. And the Most Thoughtful item went to Diane Lyons for her sewing mat with lovely writing on the back. Rest in peace Betty Harris you have inspired us.

The Inaugural presentation of the Betty Harris Award for caring and compassion went to our president Claudette Hough who has led us through what has been a difficult year at times.
