Tuesday 7th March 2017

A big turn out today for Helen Granleese’s last workshop for the Row by Row quilts. Today she demonstrated how to quilt and join sections for ‘Quilt as you Go’. We all wish to thank Helen for her year long guidance while making our Row by Row quilts designed by her late friend Christine Book.

Elizabeth had her finished version called ‘Elizabeth in Pieces’ to show. It is a very colourful quilt using Tula Pink fabric for the English Paper Piecing.

Colleen had her lovely quilt made for her grandson’s wedding. It is in batiks and will no doubt be well loved and used. Great job Colleen.

Janet brought in her latest pieced stars. She has become an expert in these and has the patience to match. These two are for her grand daughter Charlie.

We enjoyed a yummy cake for morning tea made by Ursula. This was a very nice treat.

Don’t forget that the AGM is coming up on the 22nd. We will need a new committee as the present girls have served their two years. Think about putting your hand up so our club keeps running smoothly.

Next week we have the first show and tell for the Art Quilts. Can’t wait to see the creations.
