June already and we are gearing up for our Arts and Craft Festival in July. The Quilt Show section is usually amazing!! Where has this year gone?
Today we enjoyed a workshop by Colleen Brighton. She demonstrated how to make interesting backgrounds for art quilts and also to cover journals etc. These crazy pieced backgrounds are great fun to make and play with. Anything goes and embellishments can abound. Many thanks Colleen we loved your demo.
We welcomed back our president, Linda, who has enjoyed a holiday in Canada and thank Claudette for holding the fort.
Two amazing quilts where up for Show and Tell. The first was by Bev Livingston and is for her son-in-law’s 40th birthday. The design and use of colour was beautiful. Another colourful quilt was made by Chris Philp. Chris used Kaffe Fassett fabrics and the disappearing nine patch to make this stunning quilt for her grand son Zachary and his wife. She had it quilted at Rainbow Patchwork in Lismore. Great job girls.
Next week we have our second art quilt reveal and we are also going to enjoy two days with Deborah Louie doing applique. Can’t wait!!! Keep stitching Elizabeth
