Tuesday 25th July

A good turn out for our July General Meeting. Linda was back in the chair and we had a thorough discussion about our up and coming Daffodil Day. Plenty of enthusiasm so should be a winner for the Cancer Council.

The art quilters have started gathering artwork for our August showing at Ferry Park. We have agreed to call it “A Textile Adventure” so as to include works that aren’t necessarily art quilts such as bags and bowls. There is still time to include your work so bring it in next week. We will be hanging next Tuesday after stitching – helpers welcome.

Robyne brought in a birthday cake and as Sonia was the only July girl here she got to cut the cake. Happy birhday to all those members born in July.

Robyn Gilvear had a wonderful quilt for ‘show and tell’. She made it for a friend who has been most helful to Robyn and her hubby during a trying time for them. The quilt featured a centre panel and was a gorgeous colour.

Linda, our president brounght in a selection of very cute bags she has been making for her granddaughter. They all feature a ‘Dog Selfie’ fabric that is available at Stephen’s in Grafton.

Our newest member Val had a lovely bag featuring a poinsettia which was much admired.

And Helen Granleese had a folksy style Christmas hanging made for a friend. Speaking of Helen – next week she will give a mini workshop on the art of needleturn broderie perse.

Til next week Elizabeth
