Tuesday 5th June

What a lovely day we had together. The LCACA Festival Committee has agreed for us to have the hall at Maclean High School for our quilt show. This is a very nice space and right in the middle of all the action. A win win for us.

This Saturday at Maclean Markets some of our members will be selling shopping bags to help people transition from plastic bags which supermarkets are now phasing out. A great initiative girls.

Today our mini workshop was led by Fay Farnham, who is one of our life members. Fay is a whizz at needleturn applique and she demonstrated how she does this so beautifully. Lots of tips re needles and threads as well. Many thanks Fay I may even give it a go again.

Show and Tell:

Claudette had her finished “Hidden Wells” quilt top in lovely soft but colourful fabrics. It is very pretty. And Dianne had her “Hidden Wells” quilt too this one done in red and green for Christmas as a gift for a family member. Wilga would be delighted with both.

Colleen brought in the Amish Blocks quilt which she has kindly and very nicely quilted. Alison had her machine ready to do the binding. A real group effort!!!

Next week we will sew our orphan blocks into bunting for the Quilt Show. We have lots of odd blocks so the end product should be interesting.

Keep stitching everyone. Elizabeth and Colleen
