21st November 2023

Well, we have reached that point where we are only 5 weeks till Christmas. Everybody is busy getting their item for the Christmas Challenge finished before December 12th. Some of us haven’t even started but we will be finished by the required time. Our real challenge is to come up with something that starts with our first initial…………….S……..Sewing kit or Strawberry bag or, or, or. I still have 3 weeks. What about you?

This time of year is also a time to reflect on the past year and try to make a decision about who we will vote for in the Betty Harris Award. Voting slips are available and you only have a couple of weeks to decide who you think best suits the criteria for this award. I know it is hard as we have many members who could be this years winner. As you know we are looking for someone with the attributes of caring and helpfulness. Again, too many to wheedle down to just one. But we must. Good luck.

SHOW AND TELL.

Gail

As you know Gail has the huge task of delving through all the fabric left by Betty Harris when she passed. Gail distributes the fabric to those members she thinks will take the fabric and re-purpose it and add to our Sales table items for ‘Airing of the Quilts’ or the Quilt Exhibition.

This week I finished a few items for Gail.

A Strawberries and Cream Bag, a couple of pouches, a couple of sewing kits and a card pouch.

Still more to come as the strawberry fabric was 1 mtr. So much to do so little time. LOL.

Margaret

As you know Margaret is never without something new for us to see. This week it is tote bags for the ‘Foodbank’. A Christmas theme. She has also been working on some Toiletry bags in which she has knitted a face washer and put in a cake of soap. Such a thoughtful gesture for the disadvantaged looked after by the Foodbank.

Thank you Margaret and of course our bag models. Chris, Fay and Marcia.

Robyne

Robyne has finished yet another quilt for the Allawah children’s Centre in Sydney.

Such a lovely colourful quilt to brighten a child’s day. Thanks Robyne.

Alison

Alison has been busy making Christmas stockings and decorations.

Great job Alison as usual. Very Festive.

Debra

Debra has finally finished her quilt. Her shimmering quilt.

Just lovely, Colour combinations go well together.

The back goes so well with the front. Thanks Debra, just gorgeous.
