31st October 2023

Halloween came to Quilt Group today. Fay and Elizabeth got into the mood.

Nobody seems to be frightened of Fay.

I was wrong, I think Elizabeth looks a little scared of what Fay may do.

Thanks Ladies.

BIRTHDAY CAKE

We had three members celebrating their Birthdays in October. Many Happy Returns everyone. Hope you had a great Birthday.

Janet H, Chris B and Val W. Lots of cake to share with your quilting friends. Enough cake to go around twice.

Happy Birthday everyone.

SHOW AND TELL

Carol

Our first member this morning was Carol with a scrappy quilt.

Stunning use of scrap pieces.

Carol has been working on this quilt for over a year. Great job Carol the grey framing accentuates the blocks.

The close up.

Thanks Carol.

Gail

Gail is the next member to do a Friendship quilt. The theme is a 10 -1/2” block any colours any theme but make to represent the member.

Well so far Gail has received 2 blocks and she is thrilled. Gail likes to keep a low profile so not impressed to be in the spotlight.

This block was made by Lorraine. A basket of flowers to cheer anyone’s day.

This one by Marcia R. in Gail’s favourite colours.

So now the rest of us know how to proceed.

Good work everyone.

Margaret

As you must know, a day without something spectacular from Margaret would not be as interesting a day.

This week Margaret tells us she purchased a quilt pattern and fabric from Dianne for the princely sum of $25. She went home and one week later she produced many items for the sales table as well as for one of her favourite charities. She keeps us on our toes and inspires us weekly.

The zippered pouches in the front are for her charity and the place mats in the rear are for the sales table.

The close up.

Thanks Margaret great job yet again.

Therese

For those of you who remember a past member Therese, we caught up with her last Saturday and managed to get a photo of her finished quilt. Therese had be working on this quilt for some time. Embroidering blocks etc.

All hand sewn.

Therese has colonial Knots on the binding. That’s dedication to your craft.

Thanks Therese for sharing with the group.
